Catalogues Online for NZB National Yearling Series

Catalogues for New Zealand Bloodstock’s National Yearling Sales Series are now online at www.nzb.co.nz.

The three sales, the Premier, Select and Festival sales have attracted a combined 1378 youngsters that will be offered over the course of six days beginning Jan. 25, 2016, at NZB’s Karaka complex.

The National Yearling Sales series continues to be a source of top horses, as the series was represented by no fewer than 21 individual Group 1 winners last season. The Premier catalogue offers the cream of the crop of yearlings and will feature siblings to 32 top-level winners such as G1 Melbourne Cup winner Prince of Penzance (NZ) (lot 45); New Zealand Horse of the Year and champion 3-year-old Mongolian Khan (Aus) (lot 223); four-time G1 winner Shamexpress (NZ) (lot 133); and G1 Victoria Derby winner Monaco Consul (NZ) (lot 177).

Other successful graduates of the sales include Kermadec (NZ), Preferment (NZ) and G1 New Zealand 2000 hero Xtravagant (NZ).

At Karaka 2016, all yearlings offered at the National Yearling Sales Series are eligible for the Karaka Million Series which now includes two $1 million races. This crop of yearlings will be racing for the $1 million Karaka Million in 2017, the new $1 million Karaka Million 3YO Classic in 2018, plus the $100,000 Karaka Stayers Cup from 2018 and each year thereafter.
